Turkish steelmaker Kardemir has announced that it has signed a 10-year service contract to use the new port located at Çatalağzı in the northern Turkish city of Zonguldak, in addition to its current port and logistics facilities.

With the new port owned by Eren Enerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş., Kardemir aims to enable the import of raw material supply, which is predicted to increase in line with the steel producer's capacity expansion targets, and also the seaborne trade of domestic and overseas sales as well as overseas purchases.
