JSW Steel’s crude steel output increases by 11 percent in Q3 FY 2010-11

The Indian steelmaker JSW Steel Limited has said that its crude steel output in Q3 FY 2010-11 rose by 11 percent year on year to 1.64 million mt, while for the nine-month period ended December 31, 2010, its crude steel production amounted to 4.78 million mt - up nine percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in Q3 FY 2010-11, JSW Steel's flat rolled steel product output totaled 1.25 million mt, increasing by 33 percent, while its long steel product output rose by 19 percent to 0.28 million mt, both compared to the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.

JSW Steel also said that its 3.2 million mt per year expansion project at its Vijayanagar works is progressing well and will expand the overall crude steel capacity to 11 million mt per year by March 2011.
