India’s JSPL has reported Q3 fiscal year 2019 (October to December 2018) steel production at 1.22 million mt, 6 percent lower than Q2 of fiscal year 2019 when it reported producing 1.30 million mt, but 45 percent higher than Q3 of fiscal year 2017 when it produced 0.84 million mt.
According to media reports, JSPL is targeting to produce 1.5 million mt of steel in Q4 of fiscal year 2019 (January to March 2019), up 19 percent from the 1.26 million it produced in the same period the previous fiscal year. In the Q1 fiscal year 2019, JSPL produced 1.22 million mt of steel. If it achieves the 1.5 million mt steel production target in Q4, JSPL’s steel production total for the fiscal year 2019 would reach 5.24 million mt.
