JSPL expects 1.5 million mt rise in steel output in FY 2020-21

Indian steelmaker Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has announced that it has resumed operations at its coal gasification-based direct reduced iron (DRI) plant in the Angul district of Odisha. The facility with an annual production capacity of 1.80 million mt had not been operational for a long time due to scarcity of coal.

The company said that, with the plant coming online again, they expect a 1.5 million mt increase in their steel production during the financial year 2020-21 which is to start on April 1.
