Jinan Steel’s upgrading project starts

Hebei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Jinan Steel Group’s upgrading project started on September 8, with the total investment of RMB 13.4 billion ($2.06 billion). The upgrading project will consist of a 2.2 million mt steel project of Jinding Heavy Industry, which is located in Qinglongshan Industrial Park in Wu’an City, Hebei Province, while its final aim is to form the production scale of 5 million mt of pig iron, 5 million mt of crude steel and 5 million mt of finished steel. The products will include steel for line pipes, weathering resistant steel and steel sheet for vehicle usage.
