Shandong Province-based Chinese steel producer Jinan Steel has succeeded in producing 30-60 mm thickness EH36 high-strength shipbuilding plate via thermo-mechanically controlled process (TMCP), thus becoming the second producer in China capable of producing 60 mm thickness FH40-Z35 shipbuilding plate.
TMCP makes it possible to obtain high-strength plate with high toughness and excellent weldability by means of accelerated cooling immediately after controlled rolling.
