Japan’s stainless flat steel exports up 6.8% in Feb over Jan

According to the customs statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 57,000 metric tons in February this year, falling by 19.7 percent compared to the same month of 2012 and up 6.8 percent month on month.

In the first two months of 2013, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 110,386 metric tons, falling by 4.2 percent year on year.

In February this year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to South Korea totaled 13,744 metric tons, while exports to China amounted to 9,056 metric tons, decreasing by 24.4 percent and 50.2 percent respectively, both compared to February of the previous year. In February, the country's stainless flat steel exports to Thailand amounted to 8,506 mt, up 38 percent on year-on-year basis.
