According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 61,186 metric tons in September this year, falling by 1.4 percent month on month and down 19.9 percent compared to September 2011.
In the first nine months of the current year, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 590,585 metric tons, falling by 14.4 percent year on year.
In the first nine months this year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to South Korea totaled 127,882 metric tons, while exports to China amounted to 131,090 metric tons, decreasing by 17.2 percent and 19.6 percent respectively, both compared to the same period of the previous year. In January-September 2012, the country's stainless flat steel exports to Taiwan amounted to 80,024 mt, down 6.6 percent, on year-on-year basis.
