According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in December this year rose by 35 percent on tonnage basis compared to the previous month, increasing to 20 ships, compared to 15 ships recorded in November, totaling 918,080 gross tons, including 17 bulk carriers, two general cargo ships and a tanker.
In 2019, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 191 ships with an aggregate of 9.15 million gross tons, down 15.2 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in December this year Japan delivered 8 ships for export, totaling 483,991 gross tons, compared to 20 ships totaling 827,091 gross tons recorded in November.
Meanwhile, in 2019, Japan delivered 263 ships for export, totaling 13.67 million gross tons, rising by 25.2 percent year on year.
