Japan’s industrial output revised up

Japan's industrial output expanded 2.5% month-on-month in January 2005, revised upward from the initially reported 2.1% increase, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said. The production index for mines and factories hit 102.5 against the base of 100 in 2000. The upward revision is mainly attributed to strong ship production, which exhibited its largest growth since April 2004's 3.5% rise in output.
