Japan's HR steel strip shipments down 2.2 percent in June from May

In June this year, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet shipments increased by 4.1 percent compared to the previous month and were up by 2.05 percent compared to the same month last year, amounting to 845,000 metric tons. 73.96 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 26.04 percent were made to the export markets, according to the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) data. 
 
In June of the current year, Japan's hot rolled plate and sheet production amounted to 864,000 mt, up 6.3 percent month on month and declining by 3.14 percent year on year.
 
In June, Japan's hot rolled strip shipments amounted to 1.59 million mt, down 2.2 percent from the previous month and increasing by 8.5 percent year on year. 22.29 percent of shipments were made to the domestic market, while the remaining 77.71 percent were made to the export markets. In the given month, Japan's hot rolled strip production amounted to 1.42 million mt, decreasing by 14.8 percent both month on month and rising by 2.37 percent year on year.
