Japan’s cold rolled steel exports down four percent in Jan-Oct

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's cold rolled steel exports totaled 281,963 metric tons in October this year, falling by 6.6 percent month on month and down 15.4 percent compared to October 2010.

In October, Japan's cold rolled steel exports to China fell by 8.6 percent compared to the previous month to 99,118 metric tons, while a decline of 8.2 percent was registered compared to October 2010. South Korea imported 17,748 mt of cold rolled steel from Japan in October this year, down 18.7 percent month on month and up 72.3 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-October period of 2011, Japan's cold rolled steel exports amounted to 3.24 million metric tons, decreasing by four percent year on year.
 
In the first 10 months of this year, Japanese cold rolled steel exports to China totaled 1.07 million metric tons, while exports to South Korea amounted to 193,533 metric tons, decreasing by 7.5 percent and up 40.8 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
