Japanese auto output up 8.8 percent in August

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in August this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 658,511 units, rising by 53,537 units or 8.8 percent compared to the same month of 2015.
 
Domestic automobile sales in August of the current year in Japan stood at 336,661 vehicles, up 2.9 percent as compared with the same month last year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in August amounted to 327,291 units, up by 4,797 units or 1.5 percent year on year.
