Japanese auto output up 1.3 percent in January-October

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in October 2019 Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 778,590 units, falling by 11.9 percent compared to the same month of 2018. Meanwhile, in the January-October period of 2019, Japanese automobile production increased by 1.3 percent year on year to 8,154,475 units.

Domestic automobile sales in October last year in Japan stood at 314,798 vehicles, declining by 24.9 percent as compared with the same month of 2018. Meanwhile, in the January-October period last year domestic automobile sales in Japan rose by 0.5 percent year on year to 4,464,483 units.

In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in October amounted to 404,811 units, down by 5.2 percent year on year. In the first ten months last year, Japanese automobile exports increased by 1.3 percent year on year to 4,005,816 mt.
