Japanese auto output down 7.5 percent in April

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in April this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 713,155 units, decreasing by 57,436 units or 7.5 percent compared to the same month of 2014, decreasing for the tenth consecutive month on year-on-year basis.
 
Domestic automobile sales in April in Japan stood at 319,482 vehicles, down 7.5 percent as compared with the same month of 2014.
 
In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in April this year amounted to 379,907 units, up by 4,085 units or 1.1 percent year on year.
