According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in August this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 604,974 units, decreasing by 29,859 units or 4.7 percent compared to the same month of 2014, decreasing for the 14th consecutive month on year-on-year basis.
In August, domestic automobile sales in Japan stood at 327,049 vehicles, down 1.9 percent as compared with the same month of 2014. Meanwhile, the country's automobile exports in August this year amounted to 322,494 units, down by 344 units or 0.1 percent year on year.
