Japanese auto exports down five percent in H1 FY 2014-15

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in September this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 851,051 units, decreasing by 22,693 units or 2.6 percent compared to the same month of 2013, declining for the third consecutive month on year-on-year basis.
 
Domestic automobile sales in September of the current year in Japan stood at 518,774 vehicles, down 0.8 percent as compared with the same month of 2013. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in September amounted to 410,181 units, down by 14,013 units or 3.3 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the first half ended September of 30 of the current Japanese fiscal year, Japanese automobile production totaled 4,782,877 units, increasing by 39,163 units or 0.8 percent compared to the same period of 2013. In the given period, domestic automobile sales in Japan stood at 2,473,656 vehicles, down 2.8 percent, while country's automobile exports amounted to 2,235,742 units, down by 114,031 units or 4.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
