ITC determination on duties on SSWR imported from six countries

The US International Trade Commission has recently announced its determination on the duties on stainless steel wire rod imported from Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Taiwan. On August 1, 2003 the International Trade Commission (ITC) initiated sunset review of antidumping duties on stainless steel wire rod (SSWR) from Italy, Japan, Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Taiwan. As a result of this review, on July 28, 2004 ITC determined that revocation of the current antidumping duty orders on SSWR would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping and material injury to an industry in the United States. This determination will become effective on September 13, 2004. Accordingly, DOC will continue to instruct Customs and Border Protection agency to collect antidumping duties at the rates in effect at the time of entry for all imports of subject merchandise. DOC intends to initiate the next five-year review of these anti-dumping orders not later than July 2009.
