ITC decision on AD, CVD duties on HR steel products

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) yesterday determined that revocation of the existing countervailing and antidumping duty orders on certain hot-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality steel products imported from Brazil and Japan or termination of the suspended antidumping investigation on the same products imported from Russia would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to the US market. As a result of the ITC's decision and the Department of Commerce's (DOC) affirmative findings, the existing orders on imports of certain hot-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality steel products will remain in effect. The reviews concerning certain hot-rolled flat-rolled carbon-quality steel products from Brazil, Japan and Russia were instituted on May 3, 2004.
