Italy posts monthly industrial output growth

Led by the energy production, Italy's industrial output saw a month-on-month rise of 0.1% in February, according to data released by the Rome-based National Statistics Office Istat. However, February industrial output fell 3.2% year on year. Paper and publishing output also contributed to monthly 0.1% increase. Italian manufacturing sector last year declined in every quarter except one. Growth of the $1.8 trillion Italian economy was the slowest among the dozen countries sharing the Euro.
