Italian industry turnover recovers in February

According to ISTAT, Italy's national statistics office, in February this year Italian industry's turnover was up 2.3 percent month on month but down 1.5 percent year on year.

In February, on month-on-month basis, the seasonally-adjusted turnover index in Italy grew 6.1 percent for instrumental goods, 1.7 percent for consumer goods, 1 percent for intermediate goods and 0.6 for energy. 

With regard to total orders for Italian industry, in February this year there was a month-on-month decrease of 2.5 percent and a year-on-year fall of 13.2 percent.

In the last three months for which figures have been released (Dec-Feb), the average Italian industry turnover index value was up 0.6 percent, while the average value of the Italian industry orders index was down 1.5 percent, both compared to the previous three-month period.
