Italian crude steel production up 4.9 percent in January-February

In February this year, Italian producers' crude steel output increased by 4.5 percent year on year to 2.09 million metric tons, as announced by the Italian steel association Federacciai.

February's output volume is also higher compared to the 1.95 million metric tons recorded in February 2016 and the 1.97 million mt recorded in February 2015, while it is lower compared to the 2.18 million mt recorded in the same month of 2014.

In the January-February period, Italian crude steel output was 4.11 million mt, i.e., 4.9 higher  percent compared to the same period of 2017.

Meanwhile, in January this year Italy's long steel output amounted to 918,000 metric tons, increasing by 6.4 percent year on year. In the same month, Italian flat steel output totaled 923,000 metric tons, decreasing by 3.5 percent year on year.
