Italian crude steel production up 2.9 percent in January-September

In September this year, Italian producers' crude steel output decreased by 0.9 percent year on year to 2.176 million metric tons, as announced by the Italian steel association Federacciai.

However, September's output volume is higher compared to the 2.008 million mt recorded in September 2016, the 2.099 million mt recorded in September 2015, the 2.167 million mt registered in September 2014 and the 2.147 million mt produced in the same month of 2013.

In the January-September period this year, Italian crude steel output amounted to 18.315 million mt, up 2.9 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of the current year Italy's long steel output amounted to 8.104 million metric tons, increasing by 6.2 percent year on year. In the same period, Italian flat steel output totaled 7.412 million metric tons, rising by 0.5 percent year on year.
