Italian crude steel output increases by 3.5 percent in January-June

In June this year, Italian producers' crude steel output increased by 1.5 percent year on year to 2.135 million metric tons, as announced by the Italian steel association Federacciai.

June's output volume is also higher compared to the 2.048 million mt recorded in June 2016 and the 1.92 million mt recorded in June 2015, while it is slightly lower compared to the 2.166 million mt produced in the same month of 2014.

In the January-June period this year, Italian crude steel output amounted to 12.806 million mt, up 3.5 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-May period this year Italy's long steel output amounted to 5.435 million metric tons, increasing by six percent year on year. In the same period, Italian flat steel output totaled 4.790 million metric tons, rising by two percent year on year.
