Isdemir orders two-strand slab caster from SMS Demag
Turkish integrated steel producer Iskenderun Iron & Steel Works (Isdemir) ordered a two-strand continuous slab caster from Germany's SMS Demag AG. The caster is designed to produce 225 mm thick slabs ranging in width from 1000 mm-2050 mm. The 2.5 million ton annual capacity caster is scheduled to begin operation in early 2007. The investment is part of Isdemir's project aimed at converting production from long products to flat products.
