ISA requests the government to promote exports to Pakistan
The Indian Steel Alliance, representing five hot rolled coil producers, namely Tata Iron and Steel Corp (TISCO), Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), Essar Steel, Ispat Industries and Jindal Vijaynagar Steel, has recently petitioned the government to promote exports to Pakistan. It is stated that National Foreign Trade Policy is likely to be disclosed by the end of this month. Accordingly, ISA has submitted its suggestions and requests to the government to improve domestic steel industry. ISA's insistence on Pakistan is based on the geographical proximity of the country. The steel producers in India can export various steel products to Pakistan at lower cost. Moreover, ISA requested the government to expand the scope of Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) benefits.ISA requests the government to promote exports to Pakistan
