Iron ore imports at Caofeidian port up 26.5 percent in January-May

According to the government of China's Hebei Province, in the January-May period of the current year iron ore imports arriving at Caofeidian port in Tangshan in Hebei Province reached 40,844,800 mt, up 26.5 percent compared with the corresponding period last year.

In May alone, iron ore imports arriving at Caofeidian port totaled 9,433,900 mt, up 55.65 percent on year-on-year basis and rising by 55.63 month on month. In May, the average price of iron ore imported via Caofeidian was $133.38/mt, up 3.4 percent compared with April.
