Iran’s steel production exceeds 43 million mt in March-February

According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association, in the first 11 months (March 21, 2019-February 21, 2020) of the current Iranian year Iranian steelmakers increased their steel production by 7.96 percent year on year to 43.28 million mt. Meanwhile, their output of semi-finished products grew by 10 percent year on year to 24.93 million mt, 15.33 million of which consisted of billets and blooms and 9.59 million mt of slabs, SteelOrbis has learned. In the finished steel segment, output in the given period increased by five percent year on year to 18.35 million mt.
