Iran to export iron ore into Pakistan

Iran has recently been awarded a tender to supply Pakistan with 2 million tons of iron ore, over a period of five years. The deliveries will start next year. This iron ore supply aims to meet the 20% of Pakistan's steel shortage, according to Mohammad Dehestani, Managing Director of Iran-Bafq Central Iron Ore Company. The iron ore to be exported by Iran will have 62% purity. The sales price for the iron ore to be exported into Pakistan to the southern city Bafq will be $17/ton. According to reports, Pakistan is at the same time willing to import steel from Iran.
