Intsel Steel starts construction on new Colorado distribution facility

Local media reported today that Intsel Steel has commenced construction of a new distribution facility in Commerce City, Colorado.
 
The company broke ground on the 234,000-square-foot facility on October 25 and completion is expected by spring 2017. The company plans to invest $14.5 million in the new site, including the installation of a BNSF rail spur.
 
Intsel is a unit of Houston, Texas-based Triple-S Steel Holdings Inc., specializing in beams, plates, tubing and other structural-steel products to steel fabricators. According to the company, Intsel distributes approximately 700,000 tons of steel annually for bridges, stadiums, barges and large buildings throughout North, South, and Central Americas.
