Industrial production in Russia rises in January-July

According to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), in the January-July period  of this year industrial production in Russia increased by 5.3 percent compared to the same period of 2010. In July of the current year, Russia's industrial production went up by 5.2 percent compared to July 2010 and was up 0.4 percent compared to June this year.

In January-July 2011, Russia produced 184 million mt of coal and 59.3 million mt of iron ore - up 1.2 percent and 7.9 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

In the first seven months of 2011, Russia registered a 4.4 percent increase in its crude steel production year on year to 40 million mt.

In January-July, Russia saw a 22 percent increase in its steel pipe production to 6.1 million mt and a 4.5 percent rise in its rolled steel output to 34.5 million mt.
