In the second quarter of the current year, industrial capacity utilization in China was at 76.8 percent, remaining stable year on year, while in the first half of the year the country's industrial capacity utilization was at 76.7 percent, up 0.3 percentage points year on year, accordingly to the National Bureau of Statistics.
In particular, in the second quarter of 2018 the respective capacity utilization rates of the mining industry, the coal mining and dressing industry, the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry and the automobile industry were at 73.3 percent, 72.9 percent, 78.5 percent and 81.4 percent, up 1.9, 5.2, 2.8 and 0.4 percentage points year on year, respectively, while the capacity utilization rate of the manufacturing industry was 77.2 percent, down 0.4 percentage points year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first half of the year, the capacity utilization rates of the mining industry, the manufacturing industry, the coal mining and dressing industry and the ferrous metal smelting, rolling and processing industry were at 73.2 percent, 77.1 percent, 72.1 percent, and 77.7 percent, up 2.6, 0.1, 5.5 and 3.0 percentage points year on year, respectively, while the capacity utilization rate of the automobile industry was at 81.0 percent, down 0.5 percentage points year on year.
