Indonesia’s trade surplus up

Indonesia's trade surplus rose to $2.12 billion in January 2005 from $1.64 billion in December 2004, the Indonesia's Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said. Exports fell 4.8% month-on-month to $6.13 billion in January, while imports declined a sharp 16.7% to $4.01 billion. The US was Indonesia's largest export market in January, absorbing $802.8 million worth of export goods. Japan was the next largest importer, taking in $637.2 worth of Indonesian goods, while Singapore was third with $530.7 million.
