Indonesia's iron and steel export value up 42.2 percent in H1

According to the data announced by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), in June this year the value of Indonesia's iron and steel exports decreased by 24.8 percent compared to May, amounting to $117.9 million. In the first six months of this year, Indonesia’s iron and steel exports totaled $657.7 million, increasing by 42.2 percent, year on year. 
 
In June this year, the overall value of Indonesia's imports of articles of iron and steel amounted to $312.7 million, falling 3.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, while in the first half of the year the country's import value for articles of iron and steel amounted to $1.9 billion, down 11.6 percent year on year.
