India’s KIOCL achieves 6.12% increase in pellet output in FY 2019-20

Indian state-run company KIOCL achieved record iron ore pellet production of 2.37 million mt in the fiscal year 2019-20 ended March 31 this year, up 6.12 percent from the previous fiscal year, according to a company statement. Sales were recorded at 2.35 million mt, against 2.206 million mt in the previous fiscal year.

Iron ore pellet exports by the company in FY 2019-20 totaled 1.99 million mt - the highest volume since the closure of the company’s captive iron ore mine at Kudremukh in 2005.

Exports accounted for 84 percent of KIOCL’s production in the given fiscal year and were supported by active trading to China, western Asia and the EU, the company statement said.
