India’s JSPL achieves self-sufficiency in coke

India’s Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) on Wednesday, December 11, commissioned its fourth coke oven battery at its steel mill at Angul in the eastern state of Odisha, a company statement said.

According to the company, with the commissioning of the new coke over battery the 6 million mt per year steel mill will be self-sufficient in coke requirements.

The steel mill now has four coke oven batteries of 45,000 mt per month capacity each and will be producing about 2 million mt of coke per annum, the company said.
