India's finished steel exports rise 40.2 percent in Apr-Jan FY 2017-18

Indian finished steel exports during the April-January period of the financial year 2017-18 amounted to 8.22 million mt, a rise of 40.2 percent year on year, according to data compiled by India's Ministry of Steel.

However, exports in January this year showed signs of a slowdown, with overseas shipments of finished steel totaling 616,000 mt, 30 percent lower than shipments during January 2017, the ministry data showed.

India's total finished steel imports during the April-January period of the financial year 2017-18 reached 6.43 million mt, up 5.5 percent year on year.
