According to provisional customs data, India exported 1.83 million mt pellets in Q1 FY 2019 (April-June 2018). Compared to 1.70 million pellets exported in Q1 FY 2018, imports increased 7 percent year-on-year for the respective quarter.
Brahmani River Pellets (BRPL) exported 0.47 million mt (26 percent), KIOCL exported 0.41 million mt (22 percent), Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) exported 0.40 million mt (22 percent), Essar Steel exported 0.27 million mt (15 percent), and other entities exported 0.28 million mt (15 percent).
China accounted for 64 percent share (approximately 1.17 million mt) in Indian pellet exports in the quarter.
