Indian passenger car manufacturers maintained robust sales growth in February this year compared to the corresponding month of the previous year but the pace of growth showed signs of easing compared to January, according to data sourced from major companies on Thursday, March 2.
The largest passenger carmaker in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, (MSIL) reported sales of 164,647 units in February this year, recording growth of 4.2 percent year on year, but which was lower than the 12 percent rise achieved in January.
The second largest passenger car manufacturer, Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), reported sales of 57,851 units in February this year, a growth of 8.82 percent year on year, lower than 16.6 percent in January.
Tata Motors Limited sold 78,006 units, up 5.6 percent year on year, lower than 10 percent in January.
Mahindra & Mahindra reports sales of 56,551 units, up 9.5 percent year on year, marginally lower than 10 percent in January.
