Indian coking coal imports up 10 percent in April-August

Indian coking coal import freight at all major Indian ports was recorded at 22.32 million mt during the April-August period this year, up 10 percent over the corresponding months of the previous year, according to the Indian Ports Association (IPA).

However, iron ore freight traffic at all the major ports fell by 11 percent in the April-August period this year to 16.63 million mt compared to 18.73 million mt shipped in the corresponding months of the previous fiscal, the IPA data showed.
