Indian coking coal import traffic at port up 15% during April-August

Indian coking coal imports through all major ports in the country was recorded at 24.958 million mt during April-August 2019, up 14.86 percent over corresponding period of previous year, according to data sourced from Indian Ports Association (IPA). Higher import coking coal volumes were supported by hike in crude steel production in the country.

Latest IPA data showed that total freight traffic at all major ports for iron ore including pellets was recorded at 21.505 million mt during April-August 2019, up 32.74 percent over the corresponding period of the previous year.
