India to increase colored steel production

Indian sources report that certain steel producers have started to set up plants to produce colored steel and pre-painted galvanized steel as demand for subject products in the country has increased. Currently Indian producers Ispat Industries and Shree Precoated Steels produce pre-painted galvanized steel and colored steel. However, Bhushan Steel and Strips Ltd (BSSL), Essar Steel, Jindal Iron and Steel Company (JISCO) and Uttam Steel have projects regarding colored steel production. Uttam Steel has begun construction of a plant in Khapoli, which will produce 80'000 ton colored steel per annum. Moreover, BSSL has commissioned pre-painted galvanized steel plant in Khapoli, Maharashta, which has an annual production capacity of 120'000 tons.
