India’s Directorate for Trade Remedies (DTR), part of the Ministry of Commerce, has launched antidumping investigations into imports of flat steel products coated with alloys of aluminum and zinc from China, South Korea and Vietnam, a government official said on Friday, April 5.
The official said that the investigations have been launched following complaints of dumping filed with the DTR by domestic producers JSW Limited, Tata Bluescope Limited, Tata Steel BSL Limited and Asian Color Coated Steel Limited.
According to the DTR, the investigations will cover all flat steel products containing one or both elements of aluminum and zinc not exceeding three percent by weight and either in form of coil, non-coil, corrugated or profile forms.
However, flat steel color coated products will not be included within the purview of the proposed investigations, the official added.
The DTR has found prima facie evidence of dumping of these products from the three countries and this has justified formal detailed investigations, the official said.
