India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended antidumping (AD) duties on high-speed steel of non-cobalt grade imported from China, Brazil and Germany, a senior government official said on Monday, August 5, quoting from an official notification.
The government official said that recommendation for imposition of duties has been forwarded to the Department of Revenue at the Ministry of Finance for official notification and the AD rate will be effective from the date of such notification and will remain in force for five years.
As per the recommendation of the DGTR, the AD rate will be applicable for bars and rods of non-cobalt grade high-speed steel of diameter ranging between 4 mm and 163 mm having the three elements of molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium, the official said.
The AD rate applicable will range between $1,902.34/mt and $3,262.68/mt in the case of imports from China depending on manufacturers, while the rate will be $2,147.22/mt in the case of all imports originating from Brazil, and $2,259.22/mt on all shipments of the products from Germany, the official said.
The DGTR recommended the AD rates after the completion of dumping investigations following a complaint lodged with it by Graphite India Limited, the official added.
