India and the United States (US) will hold consultations next week in Geneva, Switzerland, as regards the consultation request filed by India at the World Trade Organization (WTO) against the US steel and aluminum tariffs, according to media reports.

In May this year, India filed a WTO complaint against the additional tariffs of the US on imports of steel and aluminum products, stating that the duties, which are not consistent with the WTO rules, would impact its exports to the US.

The US will also hold consultations on July 19-20 in Geneva with all the countries, including China, Norway and Russia, which have filed consultation requests on the issue.
