The electrogalvanizing shop of Taranto, Italy-based steelmaker Ilva, a part of Riva Group, will be idled until mid-May, according to local Italian media sources. The 30 employees of the shop will be temporarily relocated to other sectors of the steelmaking complex.
The idling of the electrogalvanizing shop has been caused by lackluster demand for welded pipes. Ilva's pipe mill No. 2 has been idle since the beginning of March.
