Chicago Heights, Illinois-based steel processing company Sugar Steel announced Tuesday that the company is turning the old Patriot Steel building in Evansville, Indiana into a steel service center.
Sugar Steel is investing $1.6 million for the project, and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered the company up to $175,000 in performance-based tax credits.
The service center is expected to be operational by 2012.
