Hofmann Industries Inc. announced this week that it has completed a major investment in its Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania-based Zinc Plating Facility. This investment includes new control and conveyor systems, new surface preparation tanks, and improved chemical monitoring and feed systems to support the RoHS and CONEG compliant plating line.
Originally conceived and installed to provide a protective and decorative “brite zinc” plated finish for Hofmann’s mechanical welded steel tube products, the company now provides zinc plating services in product categories ranging from storage and shelving to pipeline accessories, housewares and agricultural equipment. Hofmann’s zinc plating finish is used by some customers as a chrome alternative, based on its salt spray test performance that exceeds industry standards for interior and exterior use.
In addition to zinc plating, Hofmann also manufactures and fabricates welded steel tubing and powder coats at both locations. Combining the Zinc Plating and Powder Coating technologies, Hofmann offers customers zinc plated product with tinted powder top coats that simulate brass, copper, and stainless steel finishes.
