China's second largest seamless steel tube and pipe manufacturer Hengyang Valin Steel Tube Co., a subsidiary of Hunan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Valin Group, has announced that its 444.5 mm × 82.5 mm A517 Grade Q tube used in the legs of offshore drilling platforms and its 323.85 mm × 28.58 mm X80 structural tubes also used in such platforms have been granted certification for conformity to American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) standards.

The ABS certification increases the prospects of Henyang Valin Steel Tube in the market for steel tubes applied in offshore drilling platforms.
