Hebei’s steel exports down 60 percent in 2009

The metallurgical industry association of the northeastern Chinese province of Hebei has announced that steel products exported from Hebei Province in 2009 totaled 3.6847 million mt, down 60.57 percent year on year. This volume accounted for 14.99 percent of China's total steel product exports in 2009 and was worth $27.37 billion, ranking second overall in China.

In 2009, Hebei Province registered a steel product output of 151 million mt, with sales revenues, pre-tax profits and after-tax profits down by 0.05 percent, 16.39 percent and 7.46 percent year on year respectively.
